What is a voice agent
A voice agent combines speech recognition, language understanding and speech output into a system that runs calls like a human. Unlike a rigid phone menu, the agent understands free phrasing, asks follow-up questions and acts on its own. It can answer incoming calls (inbound) or place calls actively (outbound). The decisive point is not the model behind it, but what stands at the end of the conversation. A good voice agent is measured by results, not by features. Automated advertising calls need the prior express consent of the person called, also in B2B (§ 7 (2) no. 3 UWG).
